Improve Generated Download Links with Proper URL Encoding

Please fix the download URL on the customer download page so that it is properly encoded, similar to how Shopify handles it. Currently, the download URL is still raw, which causes link errors. For example, characters such as [ ] ( ) in file names are being passed directly into the download URL, which breaks the link when accessed from your cloud storage.

The solution: Special characters need to be encoded so they can be read correctly. For instance:

  • [ should be %255B

  • ] should be %255D

I recently experienced a major issue where the website suddenly produced download errors. After checking, I found that the general download links have not been encoded properly for the last 30 days. This problem never occurred before; since late 2024 everything worked fine with the same file names.

Example:

  • .../[01]namefile.JPG?shopify_... = ERROR

  • .../%255B01%255Dnamefile.JPG?shopify_... = Working properly, don’t need rename files and no re-upload. If compare it with digital download by shopify no problem, gumroad no problem, google drive no problem, just filemonk.

Because of this issue, I now have to reupload all digital files, which is a significant inconvenience. Please look into this urgently and ensure that download URLs are always properly encoded.
